Topographic Mapping

Getting more out of your imaging

Active Drone Solutions collects and processes topographic images. At the request of the client, we will create Digital Surface Models (DSM), Digital Elevation Models (DEM), or Digital Terrain Models (DTM). Agisoft MetaShape Pro is used to process the images to create the topographic products.

Clients can access and manipulate these working documents with software such as Pix4D & DroneDeploy. Standard topographic deliverable is in TIFF format with a world file for georeferencing. Other raster output formats are available upon request (e.g. BIL, XYZ, KML). Vector contours can also be generated and delivered in standard vector file-formats including Arc SHAPE, DXF, KML, KMZ, and TXT.

Topographic data is a key component to not only understanding the land's natural hazards but also how it may be impacted by human activities. By analyzing topography, we can determine if slope instability or erosion has had any impact on our environment as well as what kind of leaks might occur in connection with those conditions- giving us an idea for potential disaster planning ahead.
