Active Drone Solutions teams collect and process thermal imaging data and perform fugitive emission and methane leak detections for clients across North America.
Our Teams perform leak detections on structures, facilities, and pipelines. To capture thermal data our pilots use a 640 x 512 radiometric thermal camera and 1.2km laser range finder .
For facility leak detection and methane detection ADS teams use the Aeromartix OPLS (Open Path Laser Spectroscopy). The OPLS uses a tuned laser that does both leak detection and flux measurement to detect trace amounts of methane down to just 10 parts per billion (PPB). On pipeline inspections, ADS pilots utilize Heath or Pergam OPLS sensors. Depending on the needs of the client, build options are also available.
Methane leak detection and fugitive emission testing are useful tools for zeroing in on the source of potential leaks. With thermal imaging, pilots detect moisture under insulation indicating potential corrosion or leaks. Identifying leaks and corrosion in advance of turnaround can save clients money, time, and enhance safety during the shutdown process.
